How the Bankroll Manager works
What a bankroll is
Your bankroll is the money you set aside only for poker, separate from everyday spending. Recording every session shows, with real numbers, how much you put in, how much you got back and how that amount has changed.
How a tournament is calculated
Result = prize − buy-in − fee − re-entries − add-ons − other costs. Re-entries can be entered per re-entry or as a total. A satellite ticket counts towards ITM but only counts as money if you enter its value as the prize.
How a cash session is calculated
Result = cash-out − total bought in (including rebuys) − other costs. Duration is required because the hourly result divides the result by the hours recorded.
ROI and ITM
ROI (return on investment) = result ÷ total cost, over paid tournaments only; freerolls are left out because their cost is zero. ITM (in the money) is the share of tournaments in which you received a prize.
Drawdown: the largest drop
Drawdown measures how far your bankroll has fallen from the highest value it reached. The largest and the current drawdown show the size of the swings you have already been through — they do not tell you what happens next.
Variance and small samples
In poker, short-term luck matters a lot. A few dozen tournaments or a handful of cash hours are rarely enough to draw conclusions. The tool warns you when the sample is small and shows "—" whenever a value cannot be calculated.
Privacy and backups
Your records live in this browser's local storage. There is no account, server or sync. Export a JSON file to keep a copy or move to another device, and a CSV to open in a spreadsheet.
Responsible play
Set time and money limits before you play and stick to them. If poker stops being fun, take a break and seek help. This tool does not recommend limits or stakes.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data sent to PokerRota?
No. Sessions, amounts, rooms and notes stay in this browser only. Anonymous usage statistics, when you allow them, record only generic actions (for example "session created: tournament"), never amounts or text.
Can I use several currencies?
Each record uses a single currency (EUR, USD or GBP). There is no exchange conversion; if you play in several currencies, convert the amounts yourself before entering them.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
The record is deleted from that browser. That is why exporting a JSON copy regularly is a good idea.
Can I import my history from an online room?
No. Only files exported by this manager can be imported. There is no connection to poker rooms, banks or accounts.
