Preflop
Play fewer hands — with a clear reason
Preflop creates the problem you solve later. Position, prior action and stack should guide the choice.
Raise or fold with purpose
A raise seeks value, initiative or folds. A fold preserves chips when the situation does not justify investment.
You do not have to enter
Being dealt cards creates no obligation. Waiting for a better situation is also a strategic decision.
